Eastern Michigan Vs Toledo in Pictures

March 6, 2015

On a night when Eastern needed help to keep their opening MAC Tournament game at home, they got everything they needed from Miami and Northern Illinois.  As they say, God helps those that help themselves, they also gave themselves the big lift that they needed.  The seniors were asked to deliver big and for the most part they did but they got some help from up and coming players.

Eastern started the game on fire and they roared to a quick lead.  However, once they reached the 14 point marker, Toledo seemed like they were going to wake up and start to put the Eagles away.  Suddenly, Eastern found themselves down 24-14 and it looked like the Rockets were going to lift off into orbit.  Just when it looked like Eastern was stuck like the freighter in the above picture, something happened and a spark ignited the team.  This spark was like nothing I saw all season.  Eastern went on a tear and tied it 24.  Toledo got a quick bucket to make it 26-24 but that was but a flesh wound as Eastern unleased hell.  Tim Bond got the basket to tied it at 26-26 and Eastern never looked back at that point.

I would have to say that this is the best performance I’ve seen from the Eagles all year. They were facing a tough opponent, they needed to win and they did. Congratulations to the whole team and good luck at the Convocation Center on Monday.
