Stan Parrish’s post-game comments

November 9, 2013

We’ll have a full recap on this afternoon’s game eventually, but for now I wanted to share with you, in full, Stan Parrish’s post-game comments after today’s 35-32 overtime win against Western Michigan.

It was made clear at the beginning that Parrish wanted to focus on the game and the team moving forward and would not answer any questions about Ron English’s firing. ┬áHe did touch on it lightly a couple times, but did not go into any details, and given the information that was released during the game (more on that later also), I don’t think anyone was really interested in asking.

Highlights to listen for include Parrish’s comments on the adversity the team has faced this season, his future with the team (spoiler: he referred to himself as a “relief pitcher” and indicated that he has no interest in continuing as a permanent head coach), the referees today, Bronson Hill sitting out last week, several of the specific plays he called, coaching a game with less than 24 hours notice, coaching the players through Ron English’s departure, and getting ready for the final games of the season.

After nearly five years of Ron English’s post-game interviews, Parrish was a refreshing change. This recording is 13 minutes, but it’s worth your time.
