EMU vs Ohio open thread
As I mentioned earlier, EMU has called for a “White Out”, which simply means that fans are encouraged to wear white, not green. Also, today is Band Day, which means that 13 high school bands will be joining the EMU Marching Band for halftime. Also, today EMU is celebrating Swoop’s birthday. According to the university, “Swoop became the official mascot for the Eagles in 1992 and will be celebrating his birthday with 11 other mascots in attendance to commemorate the special day.”
Finally, I’d be surprised if there’s not some sort of remembrance of Demarius Reed. There hasn’t been time to organize much, so it may be as simple as a moment of silence, but I’m expecting something.
Game time is 1:05 PM today. In one pre-game change, EMU has announced that today, and for the rest of the season, the Rynearson Stadium gates will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff, rather than 60 minutes as it has been. The forecast for this afternoon is light rain with temperatures around 50 degrees and breezes at 13 miles per hour. Let me translate that for you: Rynearson Stadium is going to feel cold and damp. You’ll probably want to wear a jacket and a poncho over it.
The game will be on ESPN3, which means you can watch online at WatchESPN or the MAC-cast. The EMU radio broadcast will be on WEMU, 89.1 FM (or listen online for free). Don’t forget to follow @EMUFB, @EagleTotemblog, @PropJeremy, and keep an eye on #EMUFB on Twitter.1 And of course, you can always share your thoughts — whether about the EMU game or anything else2 — in the comments here.
