Marrow transfer is no longer a rumor
I don’t have any details to share, but he is no longer listed on the EMU football roster. He was listed online as recently as yesterday morning.
In all likelihood, he has gone to join his father at Nebraska, per the latest set of rumors. I don’t see how he gets around sitting out again following this transfer, which will mean three years on the bench and only leave him with two years of eligibility, 2012 and 2013, and I have a feeling the NCAA is going to be taking a close look at this one. The multiple transfers and the job at Nebraska for his father certainly create an appearance of a quid pro quo, whether or not that’s actually the case.
In the meantime, the Eagles will move ahead. Welch and Sherrer will be back as seniors this fall, and Javonti Greene, who showed some impressive flashes, will be a sophomore. They also have Joe Fleming, who only took one carry in 2010, returning as a sophomore, plus three incoming freshman running backs. It certainly would have been nice to have Marrow at fullback, but I think this is more of a hit to the program’s ego than anything else.
I really question the wisdom of his father *letting* him transfer a second time. Put asdie how having a 40+ year old ‘graduate assistant’ with a highly recruited son looks…
As you point out his kid will now have at most two years to play ball. He could have been all conference in the MAC with three years instead he will be lucky to have a full career at N..
His father should have told him to stay put (or transfer to Buffalo)
